Darren Lawson’s been doing more mixing for Alfie Templeman, providing his skills for 9 tracks on Alfie’s new record, Mellow Moon.
Four years in the making (Daz has been mixing Alfie’s stuff since his debut EP, Like An Animal), his debut full length ‘embraces a huge, colourful pop sound,’ according to the NME. It’s a cracker, and has some of my favourite LP art of the year (the animated sleeve on Apple is particularly cool). Darren mixed the titular Mellow Moon, Do It, Folding Mountains, A Western, Galaxy, Take Some Time Away, Colour Me Blue, Best Feeling and Just Below The Above. The album, produced by Alfie alongside Will Bloomfield, Charlie J Perry, Tom McFarland, Justin Hayward-Young, Cameron GP, Rob Milton, Kieran Shudall is out today on Chess Club Records.
