I really, really like a lot of Nordic music, but there are still few Nordic artists that I like as much as Bergen’s Bjarte dePresno Borthen, AKA dePresno, so I was delighted when he and Henry Brill hit it off at a writing camp a few years ago (writing the tremendous Too Fucked Up To Love You on the day they met). I was even more delighted when Bjarte visited Nashville (along with collaborator and producer, Askjell) to write a record with Henry.
Church, a song that, in Depresno’s words 'might come across as a little cocky, even if it is a song about feeling vulnerable and worrying that you don’t measure up' is the second single from those sessions, released on Sony Music Norway. It is, as you’d imagine, fantastic.
