Y’know what’s a great movie? Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet. It features a tremendous performance from a young DiCaprio, some fantastic shirts and a bit where they blow up a petrol station. It was also the first place a lot of us heard the fantastic Lovefool by the Cardigans, a high watermark in mid-90s Scandinavian songwriting.
Now, a (terrifying) 26 years later, Babeheaven have gifted the world their own spin on this stone-cold classic, produced by our boy Simon Byrt. It’s woozy, laid back and absolutely ripe for synchronisation. It’s also been picked up by UK New Music Friday today. Go take a listen.
