Not a lot to say about the fabulous Ms McArtor that we haven’t already said, but finally her full EP, Welcome To The Wasteland, is out in the world. It’s six fantastic tracks of elegant, Americana and indie tinged pop and we can’t recommend it enough. The whole thing was co-written and produced by Owen Lewis & Henry Brill, and mixed by Owen too.

Matt Maeson is a phenomenal talent - his 2019 record Bank On The Funeral (and its acoustic sibling) is a sublime piece of work. His new single, Nelsonwood Lane, came out earlier this week on Neon Gold/Atlantic and it’s every bit as exciting and beautiful as its forebears. Produced by the fantastic James Flannigan, we were over the moon to have our guy Owen Lewis be invited to engineer.

It’s been a long time coming and I’ve waxed lyrical about the singles before, but Old Sea Brigade’s sophomore LP, Motivational Speaking is out now.

Alex McArtor is insanely talented and one of the best things we’ve heard out of Texas for a very long time. We’re therefore delighted that she’s co-written her upcoming EP with Henry Brill & Owen Lewis, who also produced the record together.

Pet Envy are ace. Anthemic pop/alternative crossover music for fans of the Naked & Famous, Lucius and Tame Impala. Owen Lewis has lent his considerable skills to their new single, Ghost Child, hopping on for mix and production duties.

I still don’t know much more about Madeline Finn that I did last time I wrote about her, but what I do know is that Owen Lewis mixed and co-produced this fantastic new single, alongside regular collaborator Ben Cramer/Old Sea Brigade. Ohio is out right now.

More tracks out today from Old Sea Brigade’s forthcoming sophomore record, Motivational Speaking. Mirror Moon's a particular favourite of mine from this LP, and was mixed and co-produced by Owen Lewis.

So, somewhere in the region of eighteen months ago, I woke up to a barrage of texts from Henry Brill, telling me about this artist he’s seen playing in a club in Nashville that evening. I wish I could find the conversation, as the messages were basically a compendium of the most superlative superlatives going and it’s quite the way to start your day waking up to that level of positivity from a drunk, hairy man 4000 miles away.

More music from Old Sea Brigade’s upcoming sophomore LP, Motivational Speaking, produced and mixed by Owen Lewis. Nothing Clever, which was also co-written by our very own Henry Brill, is out right now on Nettwerk.

Even though you can’t really get into Australia without a very good reason and a lengthy stay in a state-approved hotel, Owen Lewis is still trying to do his bit and bring some transcontinental magic into our lives. Broken Receiver is the result of his lengthy collaboration with John Lingard.

I know next to nothing about Madeline Finn, except that she’s really nice over email and that this song Whippoorwill is a really lovely piece of Americana laced melancholia.

How It Works is the first single from Old Sea Brigade’s sophomore album, out on Nettwerk next spring. Henry Brill co-wrote the song with OSB and Owen Lewis produced and mixed it (as well as the rest of the album). I’m lucky enough to have heard it and it is MEGA. And this single has a video with a cowboy in it, which is always something I can get behind.
Owen Lewis Vs Ainslie Wills Vs Old Sea Brigade
Read MoreThis song is one of those songs that hangs around and the joy now it’s out in the world is tangible. Detour is a duet between Melbourne’s Ainslie Wills and Nashville by way of Atlanta’s Old Sea Brigade and it’s a song that’s at turns both uplifting and heartbreaking. It’s very special indeed.
Owen Lewis Vs The Overstory
The Overstory is a new band formed by three very special human beings; vocalist and pianist, Audrey Assad; much vaunted producer Marshall Altman on guitar; and drummer (and member of Death Cab for-bloody Cutie) Jason Gerr. Owen engineered and mixed their newest track, Calm.

I’ll be honest, I know very little about Irish enigma, Vale. What I will say is that his debut effort, produced and mixed Transatlantically by Owen Lewis is a pretty epic piece of synth work. It’s cinematic and pop at the same time, channelling all the best bits of artists like John Grant and the Naked & Famous. Really excited for what’s coming next from this guy.

Jon Reynolds & The Aches continue their rise through 2020 with their new single, Imogene. I’ve spoken a lot about Jon’s talents previously, but this is another smart piece of smart Americana, engineered and mixed by Owen Lewis.
